I am an admirer of photographer Kevyn Major Howard. His work is amazing. He makes portraits of people out of his garage in Los Angelos, simply using daylight and a reflector.
Last night I set up a strobe and a simple reflector. Sophie was kind enough to pose for me. Next, I took the best images, imported them into Lightroom for some simple adjustments, and then into Photoshop CS3 for extensive retouching. I don't think Mr. Howard does all that... But I am trying to improve my retouching skills, so I followed a tutorial on Lynda.com by Chris Orwig, which was quite helpful. Then I uploaded these three images to dpreview.com (here and here)to ask for feedback... I know that sounds like a lot of work - but trust me, I learn so much this way...
Would love to know what you think of my images, though!
