My dad turns 70

My dad turned 70 today! Hard to believe: he is so it and strong and full of energy. Doesn't match my sense of what a 70-year-old should lookj like. Anyway, later this year we will celebrate it with the whole family, but tonight we celebrated it with just the family. I just came from a photo project and was carrying the equipment anyway, so I asked if he minded me snapping a couple pictures of him. I've learned the hard way there are only so many opportunities you have to do something like this, you know? Bottom one is my personal favorite.

   

Dutch Heaven Meet & Greet

Attended the Dutch Heaven Meet & Greet meeting today. Was lots of fun. Dutch Heaven is a web-based community of pretty women (models) and the men who want to photograph them. Actually, that's not fair: there are also women-photographers. And stylists and make up artists.

I wasn't sure what to expect. I haven't had many good experiences on Dutch Heaven yet. But this event was fun and I made good connections.

The point of the day wasn't really to shoot, rather to make connections. But I did get the following shots from some lovely ladies who were willing to pose.

Fall Portraits

Was asked to photograph the staff of a church in The Hague. Took them out in to 'The Haagsche Bos' where the fall colors were beautiful. Lit most of the pictures with a SB-800 and an umbrella - and a reflector on the opposite side. Here are some of my favourites.
